Meryl Newbern

Meryl Newbern (SAG-AFTRA) is a voice and performance coach, event and stage director, and multimedia performer. Along with a BFA in choreography and music from Emerson College, and earlier training in piano, she has extensive experience in improvisation, interactive theatre, and Pilates.

She has performed in voice, dance, and puppetry for multimedia performance projects for PBS, NHK-Japan, Puppetronics, Chinese Theatre Works, and Marquis Studios. Her directing and production work include productions for JumpCut Orchestra, Our Orchestra (a 24-piece jazz ensemble), Goy Vey! (Off-Broadway), and numerous recording sessions, industrials, and events.  

Taking her skills in performing arts and combining them with her work with Cranial Osteopathy and Developmental/Behavioral Optometry, Meryl has presented her concepts in "Physical Vision" workshops. The workshops have been presented at the Optometric Extension Program and the Northeast Vision Conference, and she has co-presented workshops with Dr. Solomon K. Slobins for the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind, and the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired. 

Her work has included adapting breathing and performance skills for private coaching of vision training patients, and bringing her visual and physical understanding to support her Song Performance clients.

Meryl now knows why the chicken crossed the road.
